Getting a card game printed 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Howdy all, have been lurking for a little while, decided to join up and ask a question.

To introduce myself, I am a professional Game Developer for the major video game consoles with over 10 years in that industry. However, in my spare time I have been creating smaller designs and prototyping them for my own gratification, and I'm far from a professional card or boardgame creator. So here I am, looking for help

To the chase: I have prototyped and playtested a card game over the last year. I'm now happy with the design, rules, art, etc, and it's time to get them professionally printed, with an eye towards self-publishing.

Some details:
- The deck is made up out of 26 unique cards.
- Each game consists of two decks.
- Would be preferable for the two decks to have different color backings (one deck blue, the other deck red, for example).

Can anyone recommend a local (or non-local) print shop for doing small runs of cards? Anyone got horror or success stories?

Not sure about local, but websites like Artscow are used a fair bit to make card decks for small print runs... I am not that familiar with it though, so I can't comment further. I'd also recommend checking out www.bgdf.com, I am sure they will many more and much more detailed options and processes for you!

Cheers,

Giles.

Also check out www.superiorpod.com/ which is a higher quality, but much harder interface-wise.

Latest news!

New shops added

We've recently added to our listing several Australian retailers with extensive and interesting ranges of games: some in smaller town like Port Stephens and Coffs Harbour, other based in the major cities. All of these retailers also sell online and so are worth checking for specials and unusual items.
