Recommendation List #4

Shelf Labels Print E-mail

We are making our game recommendations available as downloadable shelf-labels in .pdf format.

Retailers (or any interested party) can download the shelf labels they wish to promote a game and print them out.

Each sheet has the flyer in two formats: one is an A5 tent-fold that can be stood up on a shelf, or placed on top of the games. The other is a smaller format designed to attach to the shelf below the game it is high-lighting.

Here is a sample of what these downloads look like:

We are keen for this material to be as useful as possible as we believe it will benefit everybody: retailers can provide concise information to help inform their customers about good games, publishers of good games are rewarded, and Boardgames Australia is able to build credibility with the public. So if there are changes you would like in the layout or sizes, or in the file format, then please let us know by email to:

New Game Groups Launch!

There is a surge of interest in board games in Australia.

This is evidenced by the launching of two new gaming groups - and you can be there from the beginning and claim your place in history!

The Southside Boardgames Club meet every Wednesday in Hurstville, Sydney. They promise to play plenty of Euro games and are open to all ages, free of charge. They have their first meeting in February.

The King George Square Game Night meet at the King George Square (surprise!) in Brisbane. This will be a monthly event beginning March 25. This night is supported by Brisbane City Council, and promises a "big" game each month (think giant Scrabble rather than a 12-hour long 18XX game) as well as lots of other fun.
